NEXT SUNDAY:

  • 10.15am – Office Bearers please meet in the Lang Hall.
  • 11.00am – Morning Worship including Sacrament of Holy Communion.
  • 6.30pm – Evening Worship including Sacrament of Holy Communion.
  • There will be a retiral offering in aid of the Pakistan floods after the service TODAY and NEXT SUNDAY.

TRINITY MAGAZINE: The August edition is available for distributors to uplift today.  Uncollected bundles may be uplifted from the Church office during the coming week.

DOORS OPEN DAY: 11th September from 10am to 4pm.  Volunteers required to act as Guides and Stewards to show our visitors around the church.  Staff also required for our tea room and donations of home baking will be greatly appreciated.  If you would like to assist please write your name on the form in the vestibule or contact Tom Clark or Bob Copleton.

PASTORAL CARE GROUP: Male visitors are required to join our Pastoral Committee.  If you can help please contact Sandra Hamilton.

BOYS BRIGADE: All sections of the 14th Paisley Boys’ Brigade Company return for Session 2010/2011 on Friday 3rd September in the Wynd Centre.  Anchor Boys (P1 to P3) and Junior Section (P4 to P6) meet from 6.30pm to 8pm.  Company Section (P7 and Secondary) meets from 7.30pm to 10pm.  New members are welcome in all sections.  Please ensure that any boy you know of is given the opportunity to come along and find out more.

CHOIR CONCERT: The Choir are having a concert on Thursday 7th October at 7.30pm in the Church hall.  Tickets will be on sale after morning worship during the month of September or from Choir members.  Proceeds from this event will go to the Oncology Unit at the R.A.H.

HELP: Mary’s Meals Barrhead have asked us for help.  For further information please see the poster in the hall.

The next meeting of AEMC will be held on Monday 13th September at 7.30pm in the Session House.  In addition to our normal business, we have been asked by the Ecumenical Review Report – please think about the content prior to the meeting.

We are into the last stages of funding for the summer.  Please ensure that your boxes and their contents are with Rita Barr by 12th September.  As part of the harvest giving this year we are supporting Christian Aid’s “Wind of Change” campaign – notices will be on display on the day of Harvest and earlier.

TODAY: Members of the Lunch Club are reminded of the short meeting after the service in the Resource Room.

OAKSHAW EXPLORERS:  On Saturday the Explorers successfully completed their sponsored walk on Arran, from Whiting Bay to Lamlash.  We would be grateful if those who have sponsored them pay their contribution in the large hall this morning (Sunday).  The sponsor sheets will be available for anyone who wished to contribute but has been unable to do so until now.  Our thanks for all who supported us in raising a contribution for Mary’s Meals.

OTC-URC West Link are holding a “Get-together” to hear about visits to Guyana and India.  To assist with catering, please add your name to the sheet in the vestibule no later than Sunday 29th August if you intend coming.  As we are hosting this event a good attendance is hoped for.  See you there.

10K ROAD RACE: Will be held on 29th August.  Hunter Street and Moss Street will be closed from 10am to 10.15am and will re-open as early as possible after the race has passed through.

Our next full day outing is on Saturday 21st August, 2010 to Arran. Please ensure that you arrive at Ardrossan harbour in plenty of time to get the 09.45 a.m. ferry. Comfortable and supportive footwear is rec- ommended.

While on Arran the Explorers are doing a sponsored walk in aid of Mary’s Meals. We would be very grateful for the congregation’s sup- port in this venture. Information on Mary’s Meals is available on a no- tice board in the large hall.

GUILD: Would Guild members please meet for a few minutes in the McLaughlin Hall at the end of morning worship.

TRINITY: Today is the last day to submit articles for inclusion in the August issue of Trinity.

OAKSHAW EXPLORERS:  Our outing today is to Alloway – Burns Country.  Bring a packed lunch that can be eaten in the hall prior to departure.  Assemble in the large hall at 1pm.  Departure will be shortly thereafter.  Comfortable and supportive footwear is recommended.  All welcome.
