OAKSHAW EXPLORERS:

Our next full day outing is on Saturday 21st August, 2010 to Arran. Please ensure that you arrive at Ardrossan harbour in plenty of time to get the 09.45 a.m. ferry. Comfortable and supportive footwear is rec- ommended.

While on Arran the Explorers are doing a sponsored walk in aid of Mary’s Meals. We would be very grateful for the congregation’s sup- port in this venture. Information on Mary’s Meals is available on a no- tice board in the large hall.

DOORS OPEN DAY:

11th September 2010 from 10.00—4.00 p.m. Volunteers required to act as Guides, Stewards to show our visitors around the Church. Staff is also required for our Tea Room and dona- tions of Home Baking will be greatly appreciated. If you would like to assist please write your name on the form in the vestibule or contact Tom Clark or Bob Copleton directly.

PASTORAL CARE GROUP: Male Visitors are required to join our Pastoral Committee if you can help please contact Sandra Hamilton.

OTC-URC West Link are holding a ‘Get-together’ to hear about visits to Guyana and India. To assist with catering, please add your name to the sheet in the vestibule no later than Sunday 29th August if you in- tend coming. As we are hosting this event a good attendance is hoped for. See you there.

10K ROAD RACE: Will be held on 29th August, 2010. Hunter Street and Moss Street will be closed from 10.00 a.m.—10.15 a.m. and will re-open as early as possible, after the race has passed through.

TRINITY MAGAZINE: Articles for inclusion in the August issue of Trinity magazine should now be submitted to the editor as soon as possible and certainly at the very latest by Sunday 8th August.

OAKSHAW EXPLORERS:  Our next afternoon outing is on Sunday 8th August to Alloway – Burns country.  Bring a packed lunch that can be eaten in the large hall prior to departure.  Assemble in the large hall at 1pm.  Departure will be shortly thereafter.  Comfortable and supportive footwear is recommended.  All welcome.

ADVANCED DATES FOR YOUR DIARY:

  • 15th August – Rev. Douglas Cranston and Rev. Eleanor McMahon will conduct the service.  At the end of the service a brief Congregational Meeting will be held regarding the Review Report and its recommendations.
  • 17th August – Fabric Committee meeting in the Session House at 7.30pm.
  • 22nd August – All departments of the Sunday School resume.
  • 11th September – The National Synod of Scotland meet in Fraserburgh for the Autumn meeting.
  • 14th September – 7pm to 9pm in OTC – URC West Link are holding a social evening to hear about visits to Guyana and India.  A buffet will be served.
  • 3rd October – Harvest and a collection for Christian Aid – “Wind of Change”.
